Autism is estimated to affect 1 in 68 children. (CDC, 2014) The Queens County Parents Autism Coalition, Inc. (QCPAC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. QCPAC is focused on assisting families become the best advocates they can be for their children through education/training, parent support, and community resources in Queens, New York and the surrounding areas. QCPAC also coordinates family outings, events and play dates because QCPAC is more than a support group.
It is family.
Founded in the year 2006 and incorporated in the year 2008 by Cheryl Ocampo. Ms. Ocampo is the mother to four children with her only daughter living with autism. Ms. Ocampo set out to create a community that helped parents to adapt to the new found lifestyle of rearing a child with autism.
